Hi, it’s Yui!
On Saturday mornings, I often find myself lying in bed feeling lazy when suddenly I get a serious craving for tacos.
That day, as usual, I was messing around on my phone in bed, searching Google Maps for “Mexican food, burritos, tacos”… and I found it.
Would you believe it? A taco place had opened up less than an hour’s drive from my house, which is in a town in the countryside of Wakayama Prefecture.

The Restaurant’s Name is “LOCO TACOS.”
We went there right away last weekend!
Of course, I didn’t tell my husband where we were going; I just had him drive straight ahead wherever Google Maps led us. One of the things I love about him is that he’s willing to go along with these mystery tours!

The restaurant has a compact exterior that, at first glance, wouldn’t immediately make someone unfamiliar with reading the alphabet realize it’s a taco place. If Japanese people just passed by, they might think, “Hmm, there’s a stylish shop with fresh blue and white colors?”

Stepping inside, you’re greeted by blue and white decor. Upbeat music!

Menu was in both English and Japanese

The English came first – I like how they naturally prioritize this bilingual approach! It really gives the impression that the owner must have spent time in America experiencing a different culture, which left a great impression!
Holy Guacamole! It Is Authentic Tacos
What we ordered
- The Carnitas Tacos, an absolute must-try
- Beef Tacos made with Wagyu beef
- Cheese Quesadilla
- Beef Burrito

The tacos made me exclaim “So good!” with the very first bite! The small corn tortillas were handmade, chewy and fragrant, while the pork was braised until tender and juicy… The wagyu beef was packed with umami—just thinking about it makes my mouth water. 🤤
The salsa served with the tacos also had a nice, robust flavor and was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the Tex-Mex. It was mildly spicy yet had a deep, satisfying flavor.

The only regret is that I was holding the baby in the car while stuffing my face with tacos, so I couldn’t take a proper photo of the actual food lol.

Final note
I’m thrilled such a high-quality taco place opened in Kashihara City.
I hope more and more customers come and it becomes a popular spot! If you’re ever in the area, please stop by.
That wraps up my report on “A Delicious Taco Spot Found in the Countryside”!
See you next time~🌮🚗
